CB125 Oil In Generator Case

Hey all. So I spent some time looking on the site to see if there was an answer out there and there were for some other engines so I just want to make sure it is normal with my engine as well. I have a 1975 CB125 that I have been building from boxes. Big step forward today I got the the engine fired up (made me feel giddy...brilliant. I have spent the last few weeks getting the top end put back together and the carbs rebuilt, timing, etc. I left the generator crankcase cover off and when I fired it up oil was spitting out of the side of the bike. I was not aware that the generator would need cooling so was wondering if any of you know if this is normal on the CB125 or if I have a blown seal somewhere. Thanks in advance for any input.

I am not specifically familiar with that engine, but most motorcycle engines have oil in the alternator housing. The usual exception is alternators with a rotor that is magnetized by battery current. Those are dry.

Thanks for the input. I did a bit more research after your comment and it's normal for my CB. Threw me off as there is no gasket on the case hopefully it won't leak oil. May cut an old tire apart to make one if it starts leaking. Appreciate the feedback thankfully I won't have to tear the engine apart. So I can get to work on another motor.
