CB200 Front Brake issues

Been Around the Block
Finally getting around to the final stages of my CB200 build, and I ran into a BIG problem. After changing the handle bars out my front brake is frozen!! at first i thought it may be the cable, but after further inspection I realized the the front brake caliper is siezed. Is there a way to rebuild the brake caliper or should i just go out and find a new (ebay) one??

I have tried a few things to getthis brake working to no avail!!!

First thing was to buy a new cable, when I replaced it i can see that the brake arm is moving but it is not engaging the brake pad therefore it is not stopping the front wheel. I am not sure what the problem is, but if there is anyone out there that has ANY experience with a manual front caliper that can help me out I would greatly appreciate it! This is the last thing that needs to be fixed befoer I can get this bike on the road.

thanks for the help

That cable-operated disk brake is one of the worst features Honda ever came up with, and I am a Honda man!
One of my projects is a CB200 that had the same problem. The poor 'lil CB had been sitting outside for 10+ years.
To resolve that problem I acquired a front wheel from a CL200. It utilizes a dual-leading shoe front brake.
Granted the CL200 was produced for only one year, but there are still wheels/drums on ebay.
Got new spokes ordered and already have a new rim. Now to just get that front hub cleaned up. ;D
One more thing, you'll have to have a CL fork lower; they are on ebay too.
Of course if you are restoring her to original then this post will self-destruct in 5 seconds.
Good luck with your project and keep us posted.

my cb125s has the same front brake as your 200... same issue. It would move but lock up whenever I tried to actually install and use the front brake. Right now I don't have a front brake at all...

Any luck figuring it out? Im looking for a drum braking front wheel. What are my options? I mean what models will match up for rim size etc.

Thanks

cb175 should be the same wheel or similar cb160 has a better front brake than 175. you could lace one of those in.

Would a 1968 CL160 have front wheel work? If so parts like spokes brake pads still avail? As well I found a CL160. Full bike all is there. All I need is the front wheel if someone wants the bike. Its $350 canadian. Needs lots of work but its all there.

Anyone interested?
