so i have a problem with the carbs first ive never done anything with carbs befor im a car mechanic and i would like to learn, i have them where if i take the choke off when warmed up it idles at 2000rpm and when you gas it and let off it will dropp to 1000 then back to 2000 but if you ride it you have to throttle it hard and hold the clutch in the friction zone so my question is what do i do and i have pods on it "i know i know most of you guys hate them" lol but i did it and ive read on here i dont have to re jet it and i just bought a syncronizer on ebay so im waiting for that so i wanted to get my facts straight before i do anything else to it

Wait.......what? That's kind of hard to read through with no punctuation.

I'm not quite sure of the problem, but maybe an air leak at the carb mounts, or your idle is set too high, or you need to rejet the carbs.

Sorry i was trying to get it out quick. Also who cares about punctuation. Also how do you not get what im talking about?

Myself, my high school English teachers........and the vast majority of society.

There are plenty of reasons why a motor can act up - aside from saying that you added pod filters and having a high idle, you gave no description of anything else.

Want the motor to run perfect? Install factory air boxes, exhaust, do all the drivetrain maintenance in the factory service manual, and replace all the rubber and/or gaskets on the engine.

do you know how to set them like how many screws out or where to start at? my problem is that i dont know how to set them up correctly like where is a good starting point, also should i adjust the screws on the top of the carbs that go to the throttle cable?

The air mixture screws should have a setting listed in the service manual (I think 2 turns out is a good starting point though). And the adjusters on top of the carbs are to sync the slides. With the intake exposed and the engine off, slowly twist the throttle while watching the slides. If they raise at the exact same moment, then they don't need adjusted.
