CB350 carb question

Alright, I've got a question for you guys... I've got a 1972 CB350 with an engine serial number in the 102xxxx-range, (350A-series carburetors) and a pair of carbs from a post-#106xxxx engine (722A-series). My question is whether I should jet based on the engine number or the carb number? There is a fairly significant difference between the two... (19mm float height, vs 26mm float height, #60 vs #68 primary jets and #115 vs #105 secondary jets, etc.) My gut says to jet based on carb number, but I just wanted to get some input. Merry Christmas! :)

Go with the carb. Most people I've talked to about the carbs on my '72 CB350 (also 722As) said to go with what matched up for the 722a carbs. I have filter pods, aftermarket shorty mufflers, and bored over .50. I thought going a little larger on the secondary jets would have been the right thing to do. NOPE... start stock and go from there. Most of the guys I've talked to have stayed stock or close to stock for settings.

The carb is what determines the jetting and setup, not the engine. The same engine, from Honda, had at least 5 different carburetors, and they have different settings and jets, even though the engine is the same. The CB360 is also in that same boat. The rebuild kits aren't always right for the particular carb.

350's use round and 'square' floats for the different float heights, at least 360 uses only one type of float
It isn't possible to jet out mid range problem when you jet for top end (unless you have adjustable needles and can lower them)
