CB350 crankcase bolts torque specs?

So I am using a Craftsman digital torque wrench to reassemble the bottom end of my '73 CB350 engine. I am using new steel bolts along with anti-seize lubricant but one of the bolts snapped even with the wrench set at the lowest setting (6 ft-lb) recommended in the clymers. it really seems like this setting is too much cuz after i get it hand tight the torque wrench keeps going round and round until.. snap! is the clymers wrong? maybe my torque wrench is broken (its new)? i cant find the torque specs in the 2 shop manuals i have. this is seriously a bummer and any help would be great!

ok. looks like i didnt realize my torque wrench doesnt disengage at the set torque. youre supposed to read the screen and it tells you to stop. well that is dumb.

if i over torqued the bolts will they be damaged or stretched? what should i do? i already backed them out and took off the bottom end after that bolt broke. i am stressing out!

How many bolts did you over tighten? I'm guessing you've fixed by now? I would replace them as they are only a few $$$$ where as an oil leak later will be very frustrating!!!!
