Been Around the Block
Because my cb350 build has been pieced together , im unsure of what "model" my forks are from. They are the "rod" type. the dry fill amount varies in the manual by up to 2oz between a couple models. So i want to make sure i get it right! a pic is attached of the same fork assembly I have and I need to know the dry fill amount (full capacity) they have been stripped down, cleaned and rebuilt, thanks.

Re: Front fork oil amount (unsure of model)

Start with the small amount then a gentle ride. What about a picture of the forks. Any markings?

from the schematic on cmsnl.com it appears the fork in question are K4 model.
http://www.cmsnl.com/honda-cb350k4-england_model16400/partslist/F06.html#results

the k4 model lists the fill amount as 4.2 to 4.4 oz ... everything i read always says something amount 6.6 to 6.9 oz. still unclear as to the amount!? any help is greatly appreciated. im waiting to put forks on and finally be at the stage of having a rolling frame!. thanks

i would go with the 6.6 even if it is slightly more than the spec all it will do is give you a little bit more airspring effect which is usually a good thing unless you olny weigh 90lbs

OK, i wasnt sure if it was 2 oz extra if it could blow the seals or anything like that. with 4.4 oz in there it feels pretty weak just pushing down on the forks.

i cant imagine 2 oz causing hydraulic lock or blowing the seals
there always has to be considerable room for air
