Nice. Dont just order any though cxman jets his kits to work everytime and will make sure you are happy. Look at Irks build he has 3-4 kits and all his bikes run like a dream. You may need uprated clutch springs too with the murrays carbs

I contacted murray. He said he doesn't offer anything for the cb400. I am going with speedmotoco. We'll see how they do. I had a few messages with them and they are saying they can do it. I will let you know!

Maybe I'm looking at this wrongly but I can't help thinking that the frame is not going to take the stresses the design is going to place on it. That swing arm is a pretty long lever and no longer has side support. There has been a lot of heat put through thin metal to weld up the shock mount.

I very well may be wrong too. The swingarm is designed to have have one shock, so side support for it is not necessary. The swingarm pivot is supported by the foot peg bracket at the pivot and above point also. As for the upper shock mounting to the frame, I think there is plenty of surface area to distribute the mostly up and down forces. The original stock subframe tubes were welded in a similar way to the frame. I can’t argue that there has been heat introduced to weld it. I’ll say it again though, I could be wrong but those were my thoughts when I was trying to mount it up. I have had it out a couple of time and so far it’s working. I don’t see any signs of failure, cracks, paint flaking, bending. Thank you for being concerned.

If covid doesn’t kill me I’ll hopefully get to ride it quite a bit this summer. I don’t push too hard on the street anymore but we’ll see. Thanks for the reply. I’ll let you know.

Ah, age doesn't matter. If it's down to going out suffocating in a hospital bed or in a blaze of glory on a contraption of your own design it's a no brainer. Find me a twisty road, you'll need a magnet and a mop to clean up.

Ok. A lot of what speedmoto sells is the same as Murray's and pretty sure rhey have. Set for the cb/cm 400.

Just a quick update. I put about 5000 miles on this bike this year. So far so good. The thing has held up to the crap I put to it and it handles pretty well. There are some things that I want to alter a little but overall it's a blast to ride. I would 100% recommend the mikuni carbs for this bike as they were a huge improvement. I'm ready for warmer weather for sure!
