CB450 cam shaft play

I am getting a lot of vertical play in my cam shaft as I was adjusting the cam follower clearance. In the video below you can see the right side of the exhaust cam shaft. There is a mil or so of movement as I am rotating the eccentric for the left exhaust cam follower. I checked the clearance between the cam and the bearing to be within spec (.076mm on R, .127mm on L = .203. Spec from my manual is .05-.35). I just finished rebuilding the engine but didn't check the diameters of the cam or bearings. The bike is a CB450 K6 with about 10k miles.

So my question is, is this movement normal? If not, what are my options for remedying it?

Thanks for your help

those bushing end housings are scrap :'(
cam may be beyond tolerance as well
time to tear it down and replace what is not usable

For once, x666bullshit is right (or is this the second time?). There should be no vertical play, only side to side. You need new bushings. The bushings are aluminum and the cam is steel so the bushings likely wore out first. However, what caused this? Lack of oil?

:D there is no such thing as "no vertical play" ,all plain bushings have built in clearance as do rolling element bearings, the service manual has the specs for the allowable clearance, which is probably in the range of .006" max

but yeah very important to know why it worn out
