Cb450 noise from point adjustment side.

Coast to Coast
Haven't really ridden the bike yet.

I have some noise coming from the left side of the engine. If I remove the cover of my Dyna-s unit it's worst. Is that normal? Some kind of valve misadjusted noise.

Check the valve and it's a 004
Which I find acceptable. Should it be a tight 003 or a loose 003?

Here's the video. I'm I crazy?

Sorry for the orientation. YouTube doesn't wanna detect the right one..

450s are pretty noisy motors in general...might be slightly loose on a valve adjustment, but better to be too loose than too tight. Have you checked compression to see if the cyls are reading the same? might be somewhat telling.

You can also use a screw driver as a stethoscope, put the metal driver end against the motor on different places by valve and listen to the handle, it'll likely tell you which one is making noise and where.

Idle sounds a little bit high, probably around a 1000-1200rpm... i like mine at about 700-900rpm.

good luck!

last time i've check the compression was new at 200psi. I'll recheck them.

For the noise, I've tried the screw driver trick but still I can't really tell what noise should be there and what other not....
