cb550 - brakes and front guard?

Does the front guard mount directly to the left fork (ie between the 2 top brake caliperfitment mounting bolts and the fork) or outside it.

Hope this is clear.

dont know if it matters mine on 650 was inbetween the fender and the fender brace. i didnt put fender back on only the cable gaurd and fork brace.

It probably would matter on the CB550 because it shifts the position of the calliper pads.

Anyway problem solved. I found a photo I took that gave me just enough of a clue that it does not attach to the forks but bolts on the outside of the fitting
