So i have a 1974 cb550 i noticed that i can add a second rotor and caliper. I am wondering what all is needed to do this. Obviously another caliper, bracket, rotor, lines. but outside of the obvious parts do i need to worry about anything? Will the M/C be able to handle the load? If anyone has done this and has pics on theirs that would be awesome. I know i can swap front ends but would prefer to keep the stock isn. Thanks for any help.

OH and is anyone know where i can buy some vented rotors for the front a link would be sweet thanks guys.

Yep, done it, so have many others. You'll need to do a little filing; I don't remember where exactly, but it'll be apparent. And modify your speedo drive, again it'll be obvious. You'll also need a MC from a dual disc bike, stock may not move enough fluid.

You may be able to hunt down some custom drilled rotors (I saw an ad for some nice light cb550-specific ones somewhere), but most drill it themselves or have it done to their stockers.

You don't want vented rotors, you want drilled rotors. There's a big difference between the two.
