Cb750 hub in Harley wheel?

Ok, so I bought a set of Harley heritage spoked wheels for a build of mine, and the problem I'm having is that the hub on the front wheel is too wide to fit in my fork dropouts. After some research, I found that cb750 front hubs are also 40 holed, and I have to believe they'd be more narrow.
My question is, will I run into any problems trying to lace the cb hub into the Harley wheel? Would I be able to use the Harley spokes, or is there a good chance they'd be too long or short and I'd have to get new ones?
 
You likely need a "used to be common as dirt" conversion spoke set. Several manufacturers put them on the market to lace Honda hubs into HD 16,19 and 21 inch hoops. Check the vendors on our sight, check with LowBrow, check with Cycle X. I'd even check with "crusty chrome" (Custom Chrome) since they own Jammer, and Jammer use to cover UJM as well as HD based builds.

Heritage may take a heavier gauge spoke than your Honda hubs are set up for.

Where are you at? There are cycle salvages that carry n.o.s. spoke kits, but you normally have to go in and hunt through the bins.
 
i can't find any kind of spoke kits to fit harley hoops to honda hubs. the only option i can find involves sending stuff out to buchannon and having them custom fit it all. no way am i spending that kind of money, it'd be cheaper just to buy harley forks that are made to run these wheels. think i'm gonna bail on harley wheel idea for now, but thanks for the help.
 
Buchannons and many other parts stores can sell you a kit for the rear 16.
As said it was a well used swap.
Front not so much, but still has been done.

Sting of paying someone to do it for you will just be a drop in the bucket when talking about the total build.

Or look harder for the old kits.
 
Rear kit is off the shelf from bucannoms and listed on the site.
Not sure what size wheel you are trying to use though....
Or if doing front and rear.
 
Disc or drum front hub? If disc, a Kawasaki VN800B front wheel with conversion bearings may just be your best bet... Forget the spoke count, haven't owned a VN800 since 2008. Had an 05 800 Classic and a 99 800A.

yeah, it's the front that i'm having problems with. the heritage wheels are 16" front and back, and the front is too wide for my old forks. a more narrow cb hub would work great, but being a 16" wheel is making it hard to find conversion kits. i may just look for a more modern gsxr conventional fork, as they should be able to take a wider wheel.

and those kawi wheels are nice, but look like i'd have the same problem of them being super wide at the hub.
 
No one will have a 16in front spoke kit.
It's just not done, for some good reasons.

What does bucannons want to make a custom set?
$200? $300?
Just pay it and be done
 
Harley does it on a few models. Don't know what it would cost, but if the pre made ones are $100+, I don't want to pay more for custom ones. There were other options I explored, but I thought this would be a cheaper route. Turns out it'll be just as costly. I've got 19" and 18" spoke wheels sitting around, think I'm gonna go that route.
I even tried modern usd forks tonight and they won't fit in there either, haha. These puppies are wide!
