CB750 rebuild. Any tips or tricks?

I have a CB750 that I have started rebuilding since I wrecked it last year. The only things on the engine that were damaged was the fins on the cylinder head and the points assembly was torn off along with part of the crankcase. This will be my first engine rebuild.

Other then cleaning everything and checking to be sure everything is to spec is there anything I should do while I have everything apart as I move it all to the new crankcase?
I'm not looking for any kind of large power boost, unless it really wont cost too much. Mainly all I am trying to do is get the bike back and running so I can give it too my father before I move out of the country for a while.

The bike is a '78 750k and had just under 66000 miles on it before I totaled it last year. Here are some pictures I have taken as I've been taking the motor apart. I have new gaskets and replacement points assembly, spark advancer, and points cap on the way.
