Hey so I sold my CB360 of a mistake I made :P and am in the market for a new bike. Right now Im looking at cb500 and up and have pretty much settled on getting a cb750. This a good Idea? Im thinking a 750 for several reasons.

They appear cheaper and easier to obtain than the 350's and 450's In NC.
Ill be able to grow into it and not complain about power.
Parts seem to be a heck of a lot easier to come by.

Also Ive been reading on what cb750 year is the best and F vs. K carbs. Does this matter? any input is much appreciated.

The little bit of power helps alot on highways etc. It can be safer, I want a 550 to, but I have had 2 750s and they are awesome!

Im in the southside of VA near the NC line... I have found there are a ton more 750's and parts in NC... even found a few motors down there.

I grew out of my CM400 after a season of riding and sold it for my CB750. As much as I loved the 400 the 750 fits me much better. However, the smaller bike was great to learn on, both riding and wrenching. As far as parts availability you'd probably have the best luck with a '72-'76 k model. Mines a '77k and it was a little tough tracking down some pieces.

My first bike was a '78 750K, and yes, a few parts can be difficult to track down. Not impossible, just difficult. Tire selection is also a problem, the rear wheel is unusual at 17".

Given the above, I still wouldn't trade it for the world. It was my first and I believe it will be the only one I keep forever.

When I first came here, I was amazed everybody was into small bikes, then I realized not everybody has been riding for forty years or carries 200+ lbs. And even though I fit both these category's, I still want a CB450, because in the days of black and white, they were fast....I would also recommend looking at other brands. I love the CB's but they have gotten a little pricey. I have had great luck with the Yamaha XS model's and Suzuki GS models. I can usually p/up an XS for Half the CB price and they are great bikes with several good support sites. An XS 750 is a pretty addicting engine, lots of great torque...
