Changed to GP shift pattern

I wasn't happy with how the shift linkage looked and felt on my rear sets so I changed to the GP shift pattern today, (1 up, 4 down). I think it looks much cleaner now.

It's a good solution for cleaning up if you don't like rearsets. Mine came with the shifter flipped like yours. I got used to it while I was riding it before the teardown, I'm going back with rearsets, but I might just make it the same GP style shift pattern after.

I've thought about doing it before, but then I would have to do it to all my bikes. Don't want to slam it into 3rd when I'm aiming for 5th. Know what I mean?

just having to think about it at all whild riding could be dangerous. The GP style is fun tho(and i like the cleaner look as well) i had it on my XJ650 bobber/chop and i like the ability to just "kick" the bike through the gears instead of pulling your toe. Makes your bike very hard to steal as well!

I know exactly what you mean. I rode GP shift on my sport bikes for several years. Then I bought a Honda VFR as a touring ride. It couldn't be changed over easily or cheaply and so I was swapping back and forth for a while. I finally decided it wasn't worth the risks and changed my other bikes back to standard shift.
