'Choke' Setting question

Quick question, I recently got these rebuilt carbs put on my cb500. For some reason I can't move the 'choke' lever more than a 1/4 of its full movement. I can't see anything blocking it on the outside.

What could be causing this?
Pic 1 shows the normal position. Pic 2 is as far as I can move the lever upwards, until it gets stuck. Bike starts up just fine when left in the open position.

Are you sure your pod filter isn't blocking it? They can, and it's an easy fix to just bend the choke lever out a little (unless you hate the idea of bending the choke lever a little).

The outer edge (black rubber part) of the left pod does block the lever when I start lifting it up, but I just hold it out of the way (it's soft) and still the lever gets stuck in the same spot.

Or do you mean that something from the pods is blocking it on the inside?

Wouldn't be anything from your pods on the inside as they don't attach to anything inside. The choke is a very simple lever that opens and closes a valve -- if you take your pods off you will see it in the carb. IF something is catching there, you'll see it.

Who rebuilt the carbs?

Make sure the butterflys are installed correctly.

Thank you, I'm an idiot. Took the pods off and a clamp strip from one of them was pressing on the arm connected to the choke lever. I just cut it shorter and now it works.
