Cl 360 idles high after warm up

So I keep posting because you guys have solved everything in my build so far.

I went out for a 2 hour ride today to celebrate my new running cl 360. The only thing that wasn't right is how the idle wouldn't come down after the bike warmed up. If I let the clutch out in gear and forced it down it would stay. But if I crack the throttle it stays up at about 3000+

Side note: the fuel lines on a cl360 are extremely close to the pipes. I looked down at a stop light and saw the fuel bubbling in the clear filters...

So I just read pages of back and forth and the best I can tell I have cheap pods that are blocking a air hole on the carbs. If I will spend a little money and get the k&n filters it will make tuning a lot easier. Because it will provide a more even air flow and not obstruct any air holes. I definitely don't want to be the guy who blows my top end

I would look at my bike to see if that's true but I am at work right now. Ha..

I swear carbs are one of the most simple, confusing, genius, black magic inventions ever.

Cheap pods are not automaticly blocking any holes. Check first before buying expensive ones. Is the engine overhauled? Worn parts can cause such problems..

Ya I have just Givin it new rings, cam is right, points are right, valves are right(professionally replaced and reseated) , compression is good, replaced all gaskets, carbs cleaned, new boots connecting carb to engine.

Im sure this has nothing to do w the problem you are having. but if it were my bike, that is something I would certainly double check. Nobody cares about your machine as much as you do. especially someone your paying to appear to care. Unless you are personal long time friends w the guy and you were there having a visit while he was setting the clearances.
Lube external carb linkages and your throttle cable. & solve the hot fuel issues. depending on particular fuel, it can boil between 90 - 400 degrees.

It took me a while to figure out. My tank was getting warm enough (about 110 degrees, just warm to touch, not hot) it would cause bubbles in the filters and it would get bad enough that bike would run out of fuel w a full tank. gas wouldnt flow past bubbles in filters. I raised the tank 1/2 inch and used adhesive heat shield...the problem was fixed instantly.
something like this may help.

Air leak at the intake manifold(s) would be my bet, but check timing with a strobe light, first, if you haven't already done so.

I had a pro re seat the valves and replace the valve guides but I set the clearances and checked and rechecked them. I am going to double check the manifold too tomorrow maybe one of these things will solve it. Thanks for the help

jup, false air would be my first thing to check tooooooo

Ha I check it last night. Took the manifolds off and out the back on.... Problem solved. I guess it wasn't on right or just a little too loose. Sweet. Thanks for the help. I think my project is done at least for now. Time to ride! I guess it's a little late but I'm going to post a build thread of the project.
