CL350 engine rebuild resources

Hello all, new to the site and excited to get started on my project!

Attached is what I'm starting with...

Anyway, it looks pretty good from a distance but it's definitely a project, as previous owner did a DIY paint job (decent though it is) to cover up most of the flaws. It also has a crack in the cylinder jug that's been repaired with JB weld and the timing chain is making a lot of noise. The speedo cable wasn't hooked up so I have no idea how long it's been like that or how many miles are actually on the motor.

I haven't decided if I want to keep stock look or go cafe style, but to me at least, before any of that matters I need to get this baby working properly as-is and that means an engine rebuild. I'm experienced with rebuilding car engines, but this will be my first attempt at a motorcycle engine (my hunch is it's probably simpler?).

Long intro - short question... Just looking for good resources on this site or elsewhere for rebuilding these motors. Since I'll have to replace the cylinder jug, I'm thinking of over-boring a little, and want to add a little performance, but realistically, reliability is #1 priority for me.
I know, I know... SEARCH FUNCTION! Just thought I'd kill two birds and introduce myself as well as show you my bike. And when I get started I'll probably keep using this thread for questions... which I'll undoubtedly have.

Thanks!

There is a really good thread over on hondatwins.net that details an engine rebuild on a SL350 (pretty much the same engine). It has excellent pics - http://www.hondatwins.net/forum/viewtopic.php?f=44&t=18706

As clean and original as that bike is, I think I would do repairs and leave the bike unmolested. It looks great. Classy.
