Cl350 engine studs

Been Around the Block
So i was retightening my engine studs but i noticed that after i tight them they kind of move like a milimeter and back, i check with a regular wrench and what goes back is the actuall stud since the bolt wont go more, is this normal, while i was torquing with the wrench there was a metal snapping sound in all the bolts just one quick small "snap" is this normal? They seem tight and with no play, in just worried that i might broken something

I think what you are saying is the stud moves but the nut doesn't? If that is the case you either didn't thread the stud in far enough or you stripped the threads on the stud or nut.

It's kinda hard to understand what you are asking when you type in text message rather than English.

English is not my first language is kind of hard for me to translate what im trying to say sometimes, anyway the nut is secure and its not going in anymore, when i tight it with a wrench i can see the stud inside twisting abit with the nut when i tight it, as soon as i let go of the wrench it goes back to its otiginal place, its likr a rubber band, just strech it and it goes back to its original size

In that case, you're doing better than most American teenagers these days. :D

Do you have any pics of the stud in question? It sounds to me like the nut is stuck on the stud by either being tightened down to the bottom of the threads or possibly cross-threaded. The latter making the most sense since you described a crunching noise while tightening.

:D

The nuts are these ones

The top engine ones, i had another upper engine from scrap parts and i tried it and it did the same thing, i tight it down till the nut gave away the threads, the stud was like nothing happend to it after that, so at least im relax that if something gives away it will be the nut and not the stud
