CL350 Front Brake Cable Length

I recently purchased a '72 CL350K4 and have been restoring it. I want to replace the front brake cable but every one I've seen is only 48" long and my original cable is 51". Does anyone know if you can buy a longer front brake cable?

Contact Motion Pro for a correct Part No. or to have them custom make one. Honestly, though, 3 inches doesn't sounds like its going to ruin your braking ability. There's generally a decent amount of slack in the cable to begin with.

Thanks. I'll give them a try. I tried installing it thinking there may be additional slack but I can't figure out how to make it reach. I've read some CL350's had higher handle bars which required longer cables, but it must not be too common because everyone seems to sell the shorter ones.

Got a picture of your bars? It may be possible you had aftermarket bars which are actually higher than stock bars. CL bars were not that different from CB bars except for a cross brace. They may have even been the same otherwise.

I was on "Four into One Vintage Honda Motorcycle Parts" and they list a "long" (51.5") and "short" (48") front brake cable for the CL350. Thinking mine is the long. Let me know if you think my handlebars are stock (I thought they were). Thanks

It looks like your entire bike, including the bars, is stock (and very clean!). If it really won't fit then I'd order the one from 4 into 1 and be done with it. Thankfully cables are cheap.

It wasn't clean when I bought it

Looks great now! If you've got more pictures of the cleanup process, you should start a thread in the restoration section. Most of us are hacking these up so its great to see the opposite every now and then.
