CL350 timing issue - can't advance enough w/ VIDEO

the putting the cam end housings in with a mallet COULD cause damage
the main issue is the cam journal surface getting scored and jamming the rockers shafts into their bores out of line could also remove metal not a recommended procedure

Copy you guys.

Honestly, I couldn't get the end housings on otherwise. I was gentle with the mallet, but even then it was tight. I had the valves adjusted as loosely as possible, and the cam chain tensioner off... what should be done to get them on more easily?

Also, I notched my frame backbone where the cam cover hits... now I can take off that top cover without dropping the engine. Already thankful for that one as I'm going back in to inspect everything.

Contact between valve and pistons is the primary concern.

What about my procedure above makes you concerned about that? Genuinely curious. Seems if the "L" line on the cam sprocket matches with "LT" on the alternator, piston to valve contact isn't possible. Am I missing something?
