clutch slippage

Ok long story short here, I blew the head gasket and fried the rings on the RD. Do intern I pulled out the XS fir my daily commute till I can rebuild the RD. Running it down the road it runs and shifts great, when I'm pulling a hill or hammer on it the clutch slips. Read up on it a little and found that a lot odd people say the plate springs are more than likely causing this. Has anyone had this condition happen to them?

Yes.
Consult the service manual. It will tell you what the minimum free length of the clutch springs should be. It will also tell you what the minimum thickness of the friction plates should be, too.

A new set of clutch springs doesn't cost much.

Other things cause clutch slippage, too. Most often, slipping clutch is caused by misadjustment. Again, the service manual is your friend.

Sorry to hear you cant keep a motor running
Never said the XS didn't run, clutch just slips a little. The RD just popped the head gasket and took out the rings on the left side should be back on the road in 2 weeks. And that makes two of us that can't keep them running, mine just don't require any welding to put them back together.
