this is my first "street" bike, i get my kicks off of wrenchin on it, im not tryin to make a show bike or some speed demon, i just want a sweet laid out ride sleek and low. Im still trying to come up with a idea for the rear fender and how to get the bike lowered a little more. .i do have a lot of questions, but does anyone else have pictures of dope cm 450 bobbers? i just want delete my cluster and go with just a speedo and a new headlight, and i wanna see where/how people mounted the key, and hide the wiring

other pictures are welcome as long as the bike is badass

Good luck dude. I have no clue what I'm doing but you can check out my mess of a build linked in my sig. I've got an 82 cm450c. Towards the later part you can see what I've been doing to the cluster and light area in front. Still have some final touches, gonna lower the light a little more by flipping the ears... and other such little things. Also that thread posted by thinktwice is a hell of a reference. Some great info and links.


If you still have the stock seat I've been looking for one to cut up and reupholster, you can PM me. I'm also curious how you did your side panels, they look good, much better than stock.

thank guys. I did all the work

The stock seat was all rusted to hell so i cut it up to make a mock up pan
I started rippin the headlight off and cluster, also im going to switch out the exhaust. I also pan to extended the swing arm a couple inches, and then a trailer fender all cut up

so anyone with a exhaust for this bike speak up!

I built this bike a few years ago and now regret selling it.....it was a blast to ride.

If you don't mind LOUD all I did was throw on 12"shorties straight off the headers. Sounds great and runs just fine with the stock airbox/carbon set up and no x-over. Haven't ridden long enough on the new setup to see any fouling or whatnot on the plugs.

If I could I would have done 2-1Mac with a 22" glasspack. Alas, i cannot...

i ment if anyone as a extra set or some they want to sell

the set i have on now i just cut down and welded in baffles, im going to build a 2 to 1 exhaust that dumps under the bike

let me know what you guys think, i like how the bike turned out. Still needs exhaust and some other odds and ends.i just dont know if its my style so i started a new project, so the bike might be forsale after i ride it around a little..what do you guys think i should ask price wise? dont be a dumbass

77 xs500, just made the seat pan. dont really have enough pics for a thread yet,. Im going for a more cafe type build but this one is going all black

I dig it dude. My exhaust setup was fairly cheap, just heat wrap (i think tan would look sick on yours), and shorties. Maybe an hour to put it all together and less than $100. Also, some lower rear shocks might help the stance. Course then you'd probably have to go with a side mount plate and tail light... I could also see some Biltwell Kung-Fu grips http://www.biltwellinc.com/index.php?l=product_detail&p=95


That's just my .02c Really love the long dents in the tank 8) and the color is a nice choice.

thanks man! my cell phone pics dont even do it justice though, exhaust i think im doing a 2 into 1..plus i found this seat im buyin should really change the look of the bike. I either whant to get a big rear wheel or switch over to spokes

yep well i heard that some gl1100 brakes and other models hondas, well i found brakes, i even took my caliper to match it up, well i held them up i thought they looked the same, got home to install and nope! im out $100 and still no front brakes also no ingition right now fuck me hard

did some minor tinkering around, made a dual seat, waiting for my rear hoop to get here then finish it before spring

got bored so i made a new exhaust in my freezing fucking garage, turned out good enough for me

just got my rear cafe hoop so ill be able to get my seat all mounted down . Maybe make a rear fender, then a new paint job before spring, god damn i cant wait for spring

new pictures, as you can see i changed up some things
lowered the clip ons, had my forks professionally done(lowered 2+), welded on my rear hoop and struts. Things still need to be done like the seat and tail light and i'm gonna be trying some other custom fork tubes.

I trailered the bike out to those pictures, but when we got there we hopped on the some farm road and cruised for id say 20 miles or so then decided to turn around , very happy with the feel and power of the bike ran great, going into the turns gaining speed felt fucking great! it tracked straight, but i'm very happy with the outcome for my 1st build
 



Did some minor adjustments, got some cm400 forks. finally got a working speedometer. Ive been enjoying the bike more and more each day, it does need rear wheel bearings, and possibly a smaller rear tire. I get some rear wobble it feels like at higher speeds. So i ordered new bearings still deciding on the tire
