My first build - just got this beauty today. Runs and sounds great. Can't wait to put some work into her.

My buddy had some european bars that would work so tonight we got to work in changing the stock bars out.

We put them on pretty quickly, except the throttle wants to stick now its not the action on the throttle but the line is getting caught somewhere. But its the first step in the right direction!

Has anyone out there worked on one of these before and put short bars on a stock 200t? What did you do? Looking for a quick cheap fix so I can ride it as soon as I get my license.

Took some quick glamour shots though. Not sure what the next step will be.

You just need to reroute your throttle cable and minimize any tight radius turns. it may not be the same as the stock routing with lower bars.

Re-routed the throttle tonight and it seems to be fine now. But now the bike wont stay on and idle for very long before it dies. I'm charging the batter and hopefully if it can hold a charge I will try electric starting it tomorrow. Tonight I'm researching tires - im thinking about putting nobby's on it.

You may just need to up your idle a bit. Without any hang in the cable you've probably just not got enough throttle to idle

That's exactly what it was! Thanks for taking an interest man! Now I'm looking to get some new tires, speedometer cable, and possibly wrinkle painting.

New mirrors installed. Fixed the idle screw so that it maintains a good idle.

Next step is new tires, maybe sore dual street/trail tires. Any thoughts?

So tonight I'm taking profile pictures of the bike so I can Photoshop my ideas for them. I'm scheduled for my safety training this weekend, and my manual and speedometer cable come in Tuesday. I should be able to get her tagged on Tuesday for a very fun adventure after work!

Can we start out by drooling over my buddies bike?

Okay.. now that we got that out of the way. Took some glamour shots of the bike to photoshop which I'll do tomorrow after work.

Feel free to use these photos if you have a cm200t and are thinking of moding it. Basic editing software not included.*

So tires are pretty confusing. After ordering some online I immediately canceled them because I wasnt sure if they were right. The problem is that they are in the inch tire measurement and I cant get an accurate metric size from them. These tires are a little hard to find a matching pair for.

Sizes:
Front= 3.00 - 17 tire on a J 17 x 1.60 481 DOT wheel
Rear= 3.50 - 16 tire on a J 16 x 1.85 581 DOT wheel

I'm looking for dual sport (street/trail) tires to make the bike look a little beefier. I would go with regular tires too at this point.

Is there someone out there who can help me find the metric conversion to these tires? Because I feel like then Id be able to find tires easier. Please help!

So the day of my motorcycle safety training (which you need in FL to get be legal to ride) I was getting home from the class and my roommate called me with some pretty serious news. "Dude the neighbor backed into your bike". I was hoping he meant my bicycle but no, he meant my real bike, the cm200t. Luckily it seems to be cosmetic, only busted my front headlight. Asshat. So now Im going to change those out for some new ones. Photos to come tonight.

UPDATE:
Thanks for the interest guys. After using it as a daily rider for a while I ended up getting a new seat. I think it was a 76 CB 125 seat. I also took everything off for plastidipping. Tomorrow we might even wrinkle paint the engine. We'll see - a lot happening right now.

Nice! I did the same,satin plasti dip...on the bike so there's over spray everywhere lol.I like the bars alot.what seat is on ur buddies bike?I'm looking for 1 similar, thinner,smaller.
