CM400T Engine Block Chip

1980 CM400T
Well hello, Im new and I havent posted in the new members thread yet but I plan on doing so. I also plan on posting my first project in the projects thread. But I just bought this 1980 CM400T and I found a few disheartening chips in the engine block. The worst is this one in the pictures below. Its a chunk out of the engine block where the starter motor is mounted and as you can see the head of the bolt is broken off as well.

I was hoping someone could give me advice on a quick fix for the missing chunk, and whether or not this will effect the motor in the future. She runs great right now and these photos were right after a 45 minute ride.

That shouldn't really affect anything, however, having the bolt with no head is probably not a good thing for securing your starter motor.

Undo the other bolt and (hopefully) you can remove the starter motor and grab what's left of the bolt with vise grips to undo it.

BTW - where's that oil coming from?.....maybe the o-ring on the starter motor?

Perhaps, the whole motor is covered in gunk, definitely needs all new gaskets and I plan on giving her a good cleaning tomorrow to see exactly if anything is leaking.

You'll have to cut that bolt off to remove starter, it has to move about 1" to right side to get out of case.
Probably easiest thing to do as case is already damaged is to drill a pilot hole through bolt then enlarge to 6mm/1/4".
The oil leak is probably from starter moving around and damaging 'O' ring?
Bolt looks pretty crusty so should be a nice test of skills and patience ;)
