So, after looking and looking and looking...and looking for any sort of performance parts for my 83 Nighthawk CB650SC (inventive screen name, I know), I've come to the conclusion that they just don't make them, at least, not anymore...
That brings me to my current dilemma, having read the post on turbocharging in the stickied thread up top, I'm loving the idea. So, I printed off a compressor map for the IHI RHB31, dusted off my algebra 1 skills (thank God it wasn't algebra 2...), and went to town.
If I'm looking at this right, it's dang near perfect, and would only get better if my VE is a little higher than then 85% I gave it. The one thing that has me a little concerned with my math is the rpm that full boost comes in. I reverse-engineered the formula in the post using the example figures, and did it the same way to get my figure, but still, it seems like it wouldn't be that low (and I did manage to remember to double the rpm figure at the end, so it's not that it's supposed to be 6,223 rpm).
If somebody could be so very amazingly good as to double check my number-crunching, I would be most grateful
.
Also, a huge thanks to Sonreir for his wealth of knowledge!
(Disclaimer: if there are any continuity errors in this post, it's because I had it posted in the "how to do it right" thread; wasn't getting much exposure with it in there though, so I moved it out here)
ETA: Question on injector sizing. Assuming I get 130 hp out of my setup (erring on the side of caution), it looks like I would need 256cc injectors. I'm planning on using 02 gsxr 600 TB's and injectors, which are 240cc injectors. Should I just bump up the fuel pressure a little to make up the difference, or is 130 hp a high enough estimation that in reality 240cc/min would suffice? Or should I just jump on up to 310cc injectors?
