cr special 26 on cb350f

Alright guys, mounted up these cr 26s on my 350f a few weeks ago and for the life of me I cant get anything over half throttle. I've run through main jet sizes from #80 to #108. Needle diameters of 2.785 to 2.835 and every clip position in between. Running stacks and free flow exhaust, Dyna ignition and coils. Idles real smooth and will run up the rpms at a little over 1/4 throttle, at half throttle it bogs and 3/4 it dies. HELP!

Sounds like you're running super rich to me?
Maybe try lower then 80 on the main,
When you go over 1/4 throttle you're going past the idle jet on to the needle jet and main jet, so it sounds like youre too rich there.

Mind you, I have no experience with CR carbs

Those CRs may be a bit big for the 350f.. So yea you need smaller jets. I can't give any advice other than what sonic said.

Nothing internal no.

I assume you are just going to fight a loosing battle.
Buy 3-5 complet sets of brass and play around.
No real magic formula when dealing with jets. Just trial, error and tuning skills are needed.

Can't see a stock 350 running those well though. Don't even think the 400 guys do.
Carbs are not the weak link on a sohc honda.
The head is, they don't flow well

putting bigger carbs on a stock engine is really the backwards way to do things... it's like putting a high flow fuel pump on your corolla, not really the limiting factor

if it were bored over, had a bigger cam, and was ported, then yes, you'll need bigger carbs because they become the choke in the system, but at this point, the tiny ports and itsy bitsy valve lift, along with pistons about the size of a quarter, are your limit.
