Cr500 street bike so far.

Tall. Like big countershaft sprocket and smallish driven sprocket.

To me a tall (car terms translated) is like 3.25 3 shaft revs 25 wheel and low gears 4.11's 4 shaft revs to 11wheel.

So I get what you were communicating now but think its opposite... If I'm wrong... Oh Dang.

Yep. That's how I know it, too. Tall is lower number ratios and short is higher number ratios. 2.90 is tall, while 4.30 is short.

Sweet build :) I always liked that Roland Sands bike. Mind you, if I had his budget I could come up with some wicked bikes too! Looking forward to more updates :)

My buddy had a street ridden cr500 and it was a bunch of fun, but would rattle your fillings loose, or rather would vibrate your hands and arms like the electrocution game at an arcade. Idk if that's a common thing with the engine, and maybe the aluminum frame absorbs some of it. Either way cool build. I'd rock it for as long as I physically could.

Solid mount bars likely. right flywheel and some dampening will cure a lot of the 500 violence lol

Set it up as a woods bike? Heavy ass flywheel?

yeah sort of, the race bike we played with you had to push off to save on the clutch for the gear set (super low) but as soon as that powerband hit it was go time, had to carry speed in tight corners just like MX or it would bog just a little then yank the bars out of yer hands.

Just need to keep playing with setups... even suspension will effect how the power comes on and forget it when it rains lol that back tire is always trying to roost :o The reeds and pipe choice is a big deal changer also.. seemed the stock chunk worked best and a fatty was too much pipe. Wish I could remember what setups ended up working best but it ran up with some heavy weights in the local series before catching fire on the line after gettin hit from behind... that ended that.

Yeah, that's why I gave up two Strokes. Tons of fun playing with them but a lot of tuning when it comes to setup.

I used to roadrace with a guy that had a CR500 motor in a older TZ250 frame.
Cool bike, but he could never get tall enough gearing for the track (Putnam Park) and was always vibrating parts off.

You guys and "tall" gears.

I thing the biggest counter you can run without changing chain size is 16T I think we ran 14/36 and maybe even lower out back

That's the track where I mangled a Gsxr 600. I low sided in turn 4 and saw my bike flipping through the air as I slid off the track on my ass >:( Stll love that track though
