Cr80 4stroke?

Well I bought something I wasn't planning on. A Kitaco pro-se 100cc short stroke kit. It takes the bore from 53 to 57mm and reduces the stroke to 39.1 from 45mm. It keeps it at 100cc but with the head and cam should put out 13-14hp at 12-13k rpm. From webike it's a $1200 kit but kitaco had one on ebay for $499. So since a big valve head is almost that much I figured I'd give it a try.

There are at least two 100cc race bikes in our town fitted with those kits. Saw them at an independent shop a couple of weeks ago.

That's cool. I don't think I've seen a heavily modded xr/crf100 around me. Maybe they all go to the track, or they are at the trails different times from me. Since I don't race I can always get the version up kit and switch to a 145cc set up for $400. It'll be interesting to see how this does for a trail bike.

Still waiting on the carb, so I started working on a bolt on kickstand. Getting it figured out using some 1/4" foam board. Unfortunately I can't find my glue gun so I'm stuck till tomorrow.

It's like CAD, but high class. Thickness is a little better controlled than CAD too. I only use the dollar tree variety.

Ha, I used MAD for the brake bracket I made - MDF Aided Design. I could have used the FAD though and may next time as it's even easier to cut etc.

Lol, I can see the mdf working well if it needs to have some strength to it. Cardboard and foamboard work well if it only needs to support itself.

Well some progress on the kickstand bracket. I think I've got the foam template about done. Kickstand should sit far enough out to be stable and tuck in pretty decent when up. Foamboard and dowel rods made it pretty easy to visualize and figure out the swing. Length will be determined with the bike on its wheels with the bracket done in metal.

Theres a little more work on the bracket and I'm making the top of the kickstand, but waiting on some small DOM to take the leg itself. Once I make the leg I'll figure out the spring. I'll probably get one for some other enduro/dirt bike and positiin things to work with it.

Thanks! It's a little closer now. I added the triangle brace in and started sanding the welds down to make it look nice once painted. The top of the kickstand is done, just gotta wait for my tube.

Some progress made today. Kickstand now has a leg, and forward travel was limited because it went too far. Some things you can't tell until you commit to metal and can actually test it. It's going to get shortened another 1/2" so that once I add a foot it'll lean a little more than it does now. That should make it useable on the trail and not just pavement. Spring should be here in a few days.

Other things done are new brake pads, new brake lines, rebuilt rear caliper and master, new springs front and rear for my weight, still waiting on carb and muffler.

I got tired of waiting for the muffler I wanted, so generic chinese pitbike muffler is being used for now so that I could finish the exhaust.

Oil cooler and coil mounted. Going to decide where to mount the CDI, and start work on an intake. Still no dellorto, but I can use the 24mm flatslide I had on the XL to test the bike and make a better intake when I finally get the dellorto.
