I went along to the Classic Bike / Car show at the NEC at the weekend. I went as a guest of my pal AC who wanted to check out bikes and cars for the RAM shox applications.

£10 for the car park, £21.50 to get in [ £18.50 for me as OAP ], six pounds fuckin 50 for a pork bap and £3.60 for a cardboard cup of alleged coffee. !!

There were more bikes outside in the car park than on display [ 1 hall out of 9 ].

Felt as if I'd been arse reamed.

This is why you need to come to Barber in 2013. $65 US for the 3 day weekend, which included $25 for the Ace Corner add-on. Without that it's only $40 for 3 days. Free parking too (at least for bikes).

Wow... that is steep.

Kind of reminds me of a swap meet I went to over the summer... $10 to get in, most of the stuff was for cars, and lunch cost me $15. I went home with some GT grips that cost me $10 and nothing else.

Holy shit so glad i didnt go was planning on it for a while but had to go work away in Jersey( another place were they love their bikes) theres gotta be better shows than that rip off had ideas of buying alsorts will wait till rufforth bike jumble comes round .

I've never yet been to a worthwhile show at the NEC and refuse to go there now. Give me Stafford, Stoneleigh or Newark any day. They are all a bit of a trip up from Kent but never disappoint.

Those prices really do take the pee. I went a couple of years back, and did the bike show, AND the classic car and bikes all in the one day, which wasn't too bad. I stuck a disabled badge on my windscreen and parked for nish, which helped too. As we come from the far east, (of Kent), it's a dear day out with a 400 mile round trip as well.
I shall have a wander up to the Excel in Feb, as thats about 12 quid, and an hour away in East London. Not a lot of classic action there though.

Where in Kent are you Pod?

You can't forget the price of admission for Kiley's. That will cost you every ounce of dignity you have but totally worth it :)
