Crazy question

there is a member here who has bravely swapped a cbr600 motor into a cb550. I think it all depends on how much you want to mod the bike.

Check the mounting points of each motor - it's easier to fit a small motor in a big frame. Also check the height (unless you are great with a welder and make a new back bone). One more: the front sprocket spacing on the new motor to the back wheel.

At least he asked. If it's been done, he can ask for advice. That's what the forum is for.

And unless someone has done that exact same engine swap, the answer will always be: Anything is possible.

Thanks for the info. It looks to be identical, that's why I thought I'd ask. I figured that if anyone had done it before they might be on here. I appreciate the advice. Will definitely check out the motor mounts and dimensions to see how they line up.

DrJ. Thanks for your help. Unfortunately not all of us came out of the uterus with motorcycle and mechanical expertise and have to ask for advice.

Thanks again gang.

How can I figure out if a 2002 KAWASAKI ZR7S motor can be made to fit my 78 kz650 frame? Or has anyone done something similar?
