D&A Motorcycle Salvage... (PICTURE HEAVY)

Wow...that place was cool! So many mint vintage bikes but it's too bad he doesn't want to sell any! He was very kind and showed us around his whole place and then just let us wander around and sort through parts. He has a 75 CB550 with 1 mile on it, crazy!

Shermanator - Good to meet you and put a face to a name! You guys probably had a fairly long drive as well.

We made a parts list and of what we might want to head back up there for and he told me to call him back about a bike we wanted to buy.

Not really a bust per say...more of a recon mission. I saw the pictures you took and we didn't know if any of the bikes were for sale but he doesn't want to sell any of the complete bikes. He did have a cl350 that was complete but needed restoration and he told me to call him later on about it. He definitely has tons of parts/engines/tanks/etc.

It was a cool road trip. Glad we went!

I made it there on saturday as well, picked up a 440 top end and pistons to rebuild my motor as well as a master cylinder off a honda to replace my crap plastic stocker. The owner was cool as hell and new exactly where everything I asked for was and his price was well below what I expected to pay after looking at prices on ebay. I will definitely be going back when I need to some more stuff thats for sure.

mothgils- good meeting you to man, it was about a hour and a half drive for us, but most of my friends live in ft wayne so its pretty much a weekly trip for me to be down that way.

oh and my buddy that came with me is really wanting to go back for a kz 1000 he had his eye on, but he needs to unload some of his other bikes before he starts another (small garage)

Oh dear God how did I not know about this place when I lived over there. Gotta get some cash and make a road trip. Did you guys notice if he much in the way of British parts?

But you can call before you head over, he had most of his inventory written down

I found the place back in the '80s BEACAUSE of his British parts. I had BSA's and Dave's was the ONLY place around here to get stuff. Granted that was a while back... but Euro bikes still seem to be his claim to fame. I'd be willing to bet he still has what you need. He has more Italian stuff than I have ever seen in one place.
