Disc Brake to Drum Brake Swap

is it an easy task? i have a 1973 CB350 and want to convert it to a Drum brake. what parts do i need. i think just the whole front wheel right?

Use stock switch and 'dirt bike' brake lever clamped to bars, (just remove the master cyl)
Use caliper mounting bolt for brake torque arm (lower 8mm one)
Then all you need is a complete front wheel from CB/CL 350/360 or even later CB400T (they made a drum brake version, hub is slightly stronger than the early models)

Yeah i think the fork tube is needed also b/c theres a spot where it holds the drum housing no?

On some bikes (like the XS650 for example) the drum brake plate mates with a tab cast into the fork leg, but as mentioned, on your bike I think there is a simple steel arm that bolts to the brake plate and to the fork leg.

No ;D

Honda use a swinging caliper with 3 mounting bolts, 2 x 6mm, 1 x 8mm (10mm head and 12mm head)
All you nrrd is a complete front wheel with brake plate, brake cable, axle and spacers (not sure if speedo cable is longer as drive is on opposite side?)

I'm actually attempting the same swap right now -- anyone happen to know what size the spacers are for a drum axle? (ID, OD, length?)

Wondering if I can find some bushings that will fit, or if I should just suck it up and order some OEM spacers...

Also trying to figure out what to do about a brake light switch if I'm using an aftermarket perch/lever such as the ones sold by DCC... any suggestions?

Thanks!

Look up the brake cable for the 68 CL175 (I think). Its the right length, and has a brake switch built into the cable itself.
