picked up this 74 cb450 a couple months ago off craigslist for $300. it had a hair over 12,000 miles on it and had been sitting for a few months. changed the oil, drained the gas, changed plugs, fresh battery, and it kicked right over and started up. here she is shortly after getting her home and taping up the seat along with a bit of cleanup...

had to hack up the harley fishtail pipe pretty quick to make it at least presentable cause that thing was UGLY and so was the strap holding it on. the debadging took place at the same time because if you don't know it is a honda then you don't need to know. then it was time to get the clubmans on there... yeah that wiring sure was fun to get through those bends, but it had to be done. bare end mirrors went on with the clubmans. dropped the rear fender a little to fit the CBR taillight under the seat. put the seat off my bro's 73 450 on because it didn't have any rips in it.

picked up a used pipe to my liking after searching craigslist for a couple weeks, this was just in the mock up stage the shitty mount strap is gone now....

exhaust welded up with more legit mount. back fender pulled. plate mounted up vertical. fresh graphics on tank. damn taillight broke so i'm sporting the busted taillight mod BSed with nightshade for the time being. so this is how it sits as of a few days ago.

Wow, you've done a bit since the last time I saw the build on the other site. Looks good.

thanks. it sounds great, i'm quite happy with the note. i'll get an exhaust clip up soon. here are a couple photoshops....don't mind the header wrap as it still needs some more clicking....

Nice! I'd go for the second photo.

Noob question: Why is it called 'Dutch runner'?

Back end looks like it fell apart, particularly with a dual seat on it
A short fender looks a hell of a lot better than nothing.

thanks. started calling it "dutch runner" because i didn't have money for new tires right away but still wanted to ride it, so all it was really used for was running up the street to buy dutches since the tires that were on it were so bald and not safe to ride much.... hence "dutch runner".

well the tail light did fall apart as previously mentioned and personally i think nothing looks a hell of a lot better than that stamped chrome terd that was on there.

I like the exhaust. I don't know who's idea it was to put a Harley muffler on that nice 2-1 pipe, but your idea is a definite improvement. Now you need some longer shocks to fix that chopper stance!
