Brother johnu it is cool to hear that you raced shifter karts! My family started racing karts back in the 1960's. My Dad, Brother, and I raced karts for years and we still have a few to play with.

Joey those colors are going to look really really cool! I've always been a fan of a dark rich red. It can make an ugly bike look hot...so imagine how your masterpiece will look in it! Outta this world. Will it be metallic or solid?

Brother JustinLonghorn thank you for posting the photos of the triumphs, those are some nice bikes! I have seen triumphs from the 70's with the carburetors out front, from what I have heard they just turned the head around which is not what I am doing but it is still cool!

I have not had a lot of time to work on the bike the last few days but I did finish closing in both sides of the rear frame section around the axle.

I totally enclosed both sides so that the axle can not be seen for a really clean look. The axle is installed or removed through a round opening in the left hand side which will be covered by a cap, the axles bolt head is inside of the enclosed section. The right hand side is totally enclosed except for the hole on the back that the axle threads into.

Thank you Brother pawn! The rear axle is stationary, I am building an adjustable idler gear that will be hidden underneth the chain close to the rear of the engine.

I want this bike to be really clean, that is why I designed the tail section to have the frame recessed into the bottom of it so that it could not be seen and is also why I designed the axle mounting area to have the axle hidden.

I am going to weld and smooth the outside of the engine mounting bolt holes in the frame as well and thread them from the back side instead of running a stud all the way through the frame, this way I can bolt the engine into the frame from the back and the engine mounting bolts will not be seen. I am also going to hide all of the wiring, etc.

Does anyone know what a stock CB550 weighs? I weighed my reverse port bike today and it is only at 250 pounds and I am not adding much more to the bike so it will weigh less than 300 pounds when it is completed.

No kidding! I'm kind of curious to see where I'm at now too. The stock 550 is around 420 lbs dry, Joey.

I had dinked around with some ram air ideas but this is true genius, how did you overcome the timing things?

give us the secrets of dieting man, that weight loss is awesome! I know my bike lost a bit, but I never weighed her and I'm sure I could shed some more.

Brother KrashManhatten thank you for your compliments! I have had this engine and been running it in its stock configuration however I have not started it yet since I started reverse porting it as I had to stop working on the engine so that I could build the bike to finish the exhaust design, etc. I did take the engine out yesterday so that I can finish building the internals and the other intake manifold and there is a new photo below.

Brother pawn I had hoped that she would be light but I never thought that she would be this light! I am going to weigh some of the stock parts and compare them to what I am using to see where a lot of the weight was saved. I know my frame weighs forty pounds but I am not sure what a factory frame weighs, we took the bike apart yesterday so that I can finish the frame and engine work so I will weigh some of the parts and post their weight.

It really is amazing how much weight can be removed from these bikes. I know my 350 chop shouldnt be more than 245 - 255lbs with a tank full of gas. Joey, I cant wait to see what she looks like all wrapped up.

Brother VonYinzer everytime I look at your bike I want to start building a chopper! When my reverse port engine was stock years ago she was a chopper!

Brother reelinfeele after she is done if someone decides to nominate her for bike of the month among so many beautiful builds here it would be a great honor to her and me both, she is special to me and it makes me feel really good that you would consider honoring her that way. I will definately post a video of her running for you all as soon as she is ready!
