Easy Clutch

Any one tried or seen one of these installed?

For USD$36 and claiming to half the pull strength needed on the clutch it seems like a good thing...

Interesting but it would have to end up reducing the clutch travel possible, as it would presumably gear-down the pull from your lever to the clutch side of the device. Probably still plenty of travel to disengage the clutch.

I'd love one of these on the BMW which has a pretty heavy clutch and riding in rush-hour traffic is a pain in the ass and hand.

I think it uses a combination of gears and cams to compensate... and even if it does shorten the travel it's like you said...I find the second inch of lever pull on the BMW is pretty pointless... I only squeeze it all the way at lights.

It would have to reduce the pull in order to reduce the force required to pull the cable - wouldn't it? Would be pretty magical if it could reduce the force required to move an object while at the same time moving the object the same distance and speed. I'd put one on my car's transmission tonight!

there's something similar available for xs650's at 650central, I was thinjking about getting it (it's actually just a lever with diff mechanical advantage and cable) because the xs clutch's are notoriously tough. Since I've lubed the shit out of the cable though it seems to be fine now so I skipped it....it's amazing

Finally found the MFG site...

There's like NO travel in that setup. Maybe for a dirt-bike, but it looks like you'd pull the lever about 1/2" and it would bottom out. Can't see that working on a street bike - don't know much about dirt-bike clutches - less travel? Fewer plates?
