Ebay Cafe Seats from Vietnam

Yes, I got mine in the mail. I haven't had an opportunity to install it yet. Had to move into a bigger place and am still unpacking. Another week or so and I should have the garage set up and will begin replacing the seat. The seat itself looks good. Quality craftsmanship! Mine is more of a two up seat, but I know they can make a single, with cowel in the back. I'll take some pics as I go through the install and post them here.

I'm in the same boat. Really thinking of getting one off eBay. Right now I've taken my seat pan and the original foam and shaped it to what I'm looking for. Thought maybe a upholstery shop could get it where it needs to be and covered.

I can't testify for the exact seats which you are talking about but i can make a statement on my general experience with the premade cover route some people are thinking of going. I do upholstery for a living and have installed many premade stock style covers for both bikes and cars and notice some things that almost all share in common. One is if there is welt cord (piping) at the seams it is typically a molded piece of vinyl which has a tendency to crack from uv exposure unlike the welt cord an upholstery shop would do which is a core wrapped with material and sewn into the seam. Other big problem is quality of vinyl used in premade covers is typically poor which also has a tendency to crack from uv exposure. Now your normal joe out there that doesn't work with vinyl on a daily basis could look at this poor quality vinyl and figure its nice and will last. There are good premade covers out there but the are very few and far between, and i have never seen any nice ones come from china or vietnam. Also when you go the premade route you don't get the options of texture, softness, and grain patten in the vinyl. I have done cafe seats on stock pans for people at competitive prices to the items found on ebay.

But ultimately it's up what you do, this is just some thought for you.

And another thing.....They're takin our jobs!--->they took our jobs

Dude, I love the rearset on that bike! Look at the extension for passenger foot pegs. I'm going to have to incorporate that into a design I'm working on for a 2 seater ;)

Hey whats up guys! Still no pictures huh? Help us DTT guys out with some pics and a full review please! I'm thinking of buying one too.

I just came back from VN several weeks ago. Anyway, I had two custom seats made and hand carried them back, silly me. Pictures below. If you are interested, I am letting them go for $75 shipped. The pictures of the seats are on a cb360. A side note, on Preview, I don't see the image attachments?

Just for your information - shipping from VN is quite expensive, estimate shipping cost are nearly $80 per seat! The seat themselves only cost around $45 (this includes one guy - me riding my 1968 honda s50 while carrying two seat pans, have another guy weld the brackets, ride to the upholstery people on the design, and then to the foam guys and finally, coffee.) Traffic in VN is just crazy! Check out what I had to deal with!

I bought one of these for my 78 CB400 and it arrived a few days ago. Unfortunately, the clips (or tabs?) underneath the seat pan I have are rusted and broken off, so I'm taking it into an upholstery shop here to have it mounted. Will post more photos after.
