Been Around the Block
ok, so i've been looking for coils, the one from z1 entrerprises are out of stock, my last resort are the ones from mikes but i've read that they do not work well with pamco ignitions, i found these on ebay

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Universal-Ignitoin-Coil-Fits-6-volt-and-12-volt-points-/300544864614?pt=Motors_ATV_Parts_Accessories&hash=item45f9deb166&vxp=mtr

they say that they would work with points or CDI 6 or 12 V, would 2 of these work for a CL350?

thanks!

Well, I find it odd that a coil would be suitable for 6 Volt, 12 Volt points and "CDI"ignitions. The PAMCO is not a CDI ignition, but rather a transistorized ignition. People tend to throw the term "CDI" around a lot when they really mean any non points system, but a true CDI (Capacitor Discharge Ignition) typically has a very low primary resistance that is unsuitable for a transistor ignition or points.

So, I looked through the listing but could not find any reference to the primary resistance of that coil. The PAMCO requires 2.5 to 4.5 Ohms with a 12 volt system (6 to 18 Volts) You could go lower with a 6 Volt system, but any lower than 2.5 Ohms with a 12 Volt system and you will fry the transistor in the PAMCO.

So, ask the seller what the primary resistance is. If he comes back with a good number and you buy the coil, I would still recommend that you check the primary resistance yourself.
