Euro license plates

Coast to Coast
Visiting my sister in Germany. I don't know how dudes deal with the plates here, there're like 12" by 12". If you side mount it the drag would be crazy, and they're bigger than most of the rear fenders around here!

Here in the UK, you can buy smaller " show" plates, but many of the of the cop cars are fitted with automatic number plate recognition systems, allegedly an anti terrorist measure I was told by the last cop who booked me.if the plate is too small, font is incorrect or spacings not to standard an alarm sets off in the car and you get booked. Along with the obligatory exhaust and dark visor check.
Funnily enough I've never seen a terrorist on an R 1.

You're absolutely right and this is a big pita to all riders here.
There are narrower ones available from this year on (smaller
letters), but the height remains the same, which makes them
look really stupid (much higher than wide).
The looks of any custom bike are completely spoiled with these
plates...

Best regards
Sven
