Fiberglass question.

So I'm working on a fiberglass seat for my xs650 cafe build and I'm just wondering how many layers you guys might suggest. I've heard of 4 to 5. What do you think?

what are you using? mat, roving, cloth? I would go 5 or so. It needs to be stiff enough so that it doenst flex and fuck up you finish.

It's mat. Though it's not really going very well...which material lays, bends and stays the best?

`Cloth will lay the best, but its more expensice and might not give the regidity you want. Matt requires a polyester resin to lay matt as it wont be formable with anything else. There are styriens in the resin that breakdown the bonds between the fibers, allowing you to shape it to your will.

4-6oz of mat per square foot, so if you're using 2oz, use 2-3 layers, 1.5oz, use 3-4, etc
