Fiberglass tank mount - Honda

I saw this in an old thread and thought it was a good idea for mounting a custom fiberglass tank on a Honda. Has anyone tried other ways of connecting the tank to the bike? I may fabricate something like this if I can't think of something better.

That doesn't seam like enough bonding area and 5 min epoxy isn't that good. It will work but won't last. Search for CCRider's tank build and see how he did it. I can't remember how he did it. Or try searching for his bike, Espresso Love.

I used epoxy like that on Gretta and then added a layer of glass mat over the brackets. Been holding that way for years.

If it were mine I would add more tabs around the curved part for more bonding area.

+1 Mike. My "c's" were welded to a plate with holes drilled in it for a mechanical bond. Worked a treat.

Yeah that's exactly what I was thinking. I just couldn't find a picture that represented that better. Have yours held up well?

Yep. After the epoxy and then a layer of fiberglass i have had no issues.
