Hey all! I've been lurking the forum for awhile, but for the life of me could not get the site to send me a confirmation to allow me to actually interact, so I got a random hair today, and it worked!
Anyway, I'm a Seattle resident and picked up an 82 CB650 a little over a year ago with the intent to turn into a Cafe racer, but life got in the way and all I've done since then is buy a bunch of parts, and decide I'm just going to bring he back to her original glory.
I found the bike down south of Olympia in marketplace for I think $300. It needed a tank and a lot of TLC, but since I was going to go the Cafe route, if figured it didn't matter much what shape it was in. He ended up giving it to me for $200 since I drove so far for it. I got it home, sprayed some lube in the cylinders and put some gas and a battery in it and it fired right up!
I have pretty much every bearing and gasket for the bike now, a new set of Speed Moto Co dual carbs, an almost perfectly sized tank and an idea of a seat, and hopefully work will be slow enough that I can get everything refreshed over the winter.
I just wanted to introduce myself and say thanks to everyone I've learned from while trying to become a member! I'm sure I'll be on here asking all kinds of questions as I get back into the restoration!
