Finishing Exhaust wrap

gribbs

Coast to Coast
Hey guys/gals......i have been reading alot about wrap, but how to you make a clean finish when you have reached the end of the pipe? Starting it is easy, but finishing??? Thanks!

For my 4-to-1's, I started where the pipes meet and worked my way towards the tip of the headers. When you do it this way, you don't have pockets for dirt to fly into it. Once at the end of the headers, I wrapped it a bit and then finished it off with stainless zip ties. For the last pipe, I started almost where the headers meet the exhaust pipe and wrapped over the other wrap a bit. I'll snap a few photos in an hour or so.

Did you buy the spray? That's the one thing that I haven't done yet...but I plan on it. Some other guys on here didn't use the spray. But I figure wtf. It ain't going to hurt to use it but it might hurt if I don't.

I never even thought to start at the bottom and work up. Thanks bro! Actually no I forgot about the spray. If you will have some left over I will buy it from you, I can meet ya next time i am in oshawa looking for a place. If its really cheap i will get it from clare's when i bring back some things i am not using now

the metal zip ties is a good idea too

You could also just get a piece of wire and wrap it around. Just don't use plastic ties.

I'm going to look around for some of the header wrap spray locally. There's a shop down the street that specializes in accessories to turn a Honda into an Acura. That might have it.

sounds like the type of shop that considers swapping out steering wheels and shift knobs as 'sport compact car tuning' lol
