Honda CB175 Restoration
My father has had, from what my entirely untrained eyes tell me, an old Honda CB175 in his garage for the last 20+ years.

This bike has sat in a dry garage for years.
Before that it had been well-ridden. And laid on its side, evident by several shattered lights.
I have never owned a bike, but have always loved them, and through an agreement with my father this bike is mine to have and resurrect.

I have the seat. The leather is intact, but the cushioning is dust.
I have the original gas tank as well. Don't have a picture of it, but its in solid condition.

Any input you might have as to where to start would be greatly appreciated.

Get it started before anything or at least try. Engine is key or your wasting time. Nothing worse than spending hours on a bike to find out it doesn't start. That's what I would do anyway.

I believe you have a CD model, not a CB. They are a bit more rare and have a few different parts. The thing that tipped me off is the single carburetor (CBs and CLs have 2). Check out the VIN tag on the neck of the frame, it should give you a model designation.

Pretty little bikes when they are done up right, like their siblings the Benly's and the Dream's. If it is a CD (CA) model they are fairly rare and possibly worth something restored.

Here's a link to Motorera's gallery listing for the CD. Gives a little information and the VIN specification Burner is talking about.
