first time seat build.

i did the same type of seat build, i have shaped surf boards in the past and i figured i would just design my own cowl and seat as cheap as possible. heres a picture of when i was done with the glassing and all that. i just used a 1/4 inch peice of ply wood as the base , not done with it yet but i like the shape came out. and i have a great spot for a rear tail light this way.

anyway, keep trying with the glassing, i had to do 3 surfboards before i actually found out how to use all the materials and get the best possible results. keep it up.

also....one more tip on the actual shaping of the foam.

try to keep with the same lines as your frame and the tank. it looks great when you can stay with the same shapes and contours of the tank and frame lines. its just a note, obviously, but it will look great when you do.
 
thanks for the tip but i started another seat based off the stock pan, i havent glassed it yet but its all shaped. I decided i didnt want to cut the frame and the seat was too short not to, so i figured i would just make a new one!
 
Thanks for showing us your trial and error, seeing everyone building their own custom parts has me wanting to try my hand at making a seat too.
