I started working on the GS650G (shaft drive) and drained the final gear oil.. holy croid batman, what a stench.. not a burnt oil kinda smell.. but something crawled up that drain hole and died. ergh.. Oil that came out (I thought I was going to have one of those IchiBan moments....) was black and stinky.
Though I put in some new final gear oil and spun the wheel around a lot and re-drained it, the oil came out rather new looking.. That's doesn't lead me to believe that this will work to get any old shyte out of there..
Is there a proper way to flush out the final gear drive without having to take it apart? The wheel spins fine, sounds normal.. just would like to clean it out proper..
Thanks in advance for any info.
Cheers
