FNG from Detroit-ish. Been lurking occasionally since (almost) day one, regularly far about a month. Daily ride is my '95 Triumph Thunderbird, bought new in '96. Also have a '74 Honda cb360, and a '72 Honda cb/cl350 project currently under construction - hope to have it registered & on the raod by spring. Way back in the deeepest, darkest corner of the barn, under a lot of tarps is my '72 Bonneville, waiting patiently for the buckets of cash I hope to throw at it someday before I'm dead or too old to ride.

Never too old or too dead :) That's what our kids are for - guilt them into finishing the bike for your 75th birthday or something.

I have a pin of your avatar on the lapel of my jacket. It's an image from "King Ottakr's Sceptre", the first Tinitn book I ever read.

Yeah, I'm a long-time Tintin fan. One of the highlites of a trip to London I took back in the late 80's was a trip to the Tintin Store. Then a gazillion years later I visited one in Montreal.

I had to chop out the dialog boxes for the avatar image. I've got all the books in JPG format and many, many of them in paper hardcopy floating around the house.

Welcome judeyramone, nice collection of rides you have there.

I'm a big Tintin fan here too, ever since a kid. I have a small collection of the books, but haven't picked one up in a few years. Never even thought to look for them in digital format.

I've read all of the books as well. Way back in the day we used to sit around reading them things all the time. My brother has all of them somewhere.

Does that 350F tank fit directly without mods onto your frame? Can you post a close-up of the steering damper mount?

Piece of 3/8 steel I cut & shaped with angle grinder, drilled & tapped, and welded on (kinda sloppy - I haven't had my hands on a welder in 10yrs). The damper itself comes off a 2006 GSXR. The other end screwed right into an existing spot on the lower triple.

The tank does not fit straight on, although I had heard that it would be a direct swap onto a cb350. My frame is a cl, so that might make a difference - I don't know. The front mounts had to be moved back about 1", and the rear mount doesn't line up either, by approx 1/2". It's not properly mounted yet; I'm going to grind down the top rail so I can lower the front a little more & I haven't figured out how I'm going to mount it at the back.

I plan to post a build thread, just haven't gotten around to it yet.
