Found a BSA... ain't tellin where

So, I spoke to my buddy today. The first words out of his mouth were "Do you still have that trailer?"
Apperently I wasn't very quick to pick up on his hint because i said "Sure, what do you need?" When he said "To go get a BSA!" it about floored me! Even though it has been burning in the back of my mind since I first saw it, I wasn't expecting it.
Seems he worked out the deal and it looks like it's going to be mine by the end of the week. I let him know I only have $200 in the bike fund at the moment and he said that's fine and then the other $100 in a week or two when I can get it to him.
Keep your fingers crossed. Looks I will I might just be getting ass back onto a BSA again. Only took me a little over 20 years. 8)
 
wow. nice find! a guy i used to work with has a BSA chopper in his shed that hasn't run in 10+ years. Just waiting for his call, but he has plans to fix it... not as sweet of a deal as that though!!!

BTW I think your buddy is treating you right. As you probably already know custom stained glass is not cheap. Anyhow, looking forward to pics and even pics of the stained glass the lady is trading the scoot for

And yeah Troy, the bike is actually only partial payment for the work he's doing. A round piece in her front door and two rectangles panels at each side of the door. Should look friggin awesome when he's done. I am just glad I (hopefully) won't have to wait until he is done to get the bike.

Let me think: Alloy rims, 180mm Goldie front brake, single carb (more reliable) motor for 300 bucks. That would be a no brainer around here and I'm not a big fan of the A50/65 range - though I do recall lusting after a Spitfire Mk3 when I was a lot younger and more impressionable.
 
I've been searching out info and lurking on BritBike.com with the help of DTT thrown in since the last update. Parts availability has vastley improved since the invention of the internet. If memory serves me right on the frame serial # that I DIDN'T write down ::) this is looking to be a '66 Spitfire MKII.
Last night the wife and I went to the club to celebrate her birthweek (really, a whole week?) and ran into my Bud again.
Opperation Beeza is a GO! Thursday after work we are hitting the road with trailer in tow!!!

Pick-up on the bike was postponed until tonight at 5:00. Gotta work all day with this anticipation.
Wondering once I get it home, how late I'll be staying upn tonight and then how late I'll actually sleep in the morning before heading back out to the shop and see her...

HD, those are nice looking A65's. Interesting that the top appears to be a Hornet tank, second has anon original seat and third has aftermarket pipes. All three appear to have the Triumph 8" brake where yours has teh more desirable 180mm Goldie brake.

Does your have the QD rear hub as well? I'm jealous....
 
teazer, I think it's a Quick Detach Hub, but I am still trying to get re-aquainted with the old Beeza's

Now for the good news... I GOT IT!!!
Actually went off without a hitch, We got back home about 7:00.



Got her unloaded and then cracked a beer and did the typical stand, sip, and stare session, trying to grasp what I had just done. Sure it's a diamond in the rough but She's MINE!!!



...and now the LOOOOONG process will begin. I am not going to be rushing this one, if it takes 5 years to complete, so be it. The more I look at it the more I am wondering to do a bone stock restore or a mild period correct cafe' with clubmans, UK Spitfire tank, and a bum stop seat. Sitting on the bike, she feels oh so right just the way it is... 8)
