Freezing in Florida

Hey everyone, just joined up after sporadically lurking in the forum. Right now my toes are very cold, I really dont like this cold weather (yes, the 30s is cold to me, I live in Florida ;D). I don't know very much about bikes, but I really dig the cafe racer look and whatnot, so I'm going to delve into my project bike with much gusto.

I have a 1980 KZ440, gotten her started once so far, the carbs are a pain in the butt to work with for a newbie such as myself, but those are the main problem at the moment. My starter relay bummed out, but a new one is in the mail. Once I can consistently get her firing up the tear down will begin.

Here is what I'm planning on doing:
making a seat from aluminum sheet
clubmans/clip-ons of course
making some rearsets
in general just cleaning her up a lot

I haven't decided what I'm going to do about exhaust yet, as in wrap or mufflers. I got her with straight pipes lol

I'm off to warm up now! Glad to be a part of this :)

HECK YA! It's freaking cold here in Orlando. I'm not super sad that I had to special order a part from honda... but i still miss riding every day.

Where you at in FL?

i've been riding every day here in Miami. It was definitely freezing this morning on my way to work at 7:30am.

located in lovely Gainesville, but that's just for college. Non school year and breaks i reside in Tampa

well for us it's cold. I rode to work this morning and it was 35º here in Miami with a wind chill of 24º and I don't own winter clothing anymore. Got rid of it all when I left Philadelphia over 10 years ago. Doing 60mph with wind is super cold. I wish we had 4ft of snow...I miss snowboarding a little bit.
