hi guys. another question from me.
I got a 75 honda cb400f which one day might be a cafe racer, I found a honda nsr 250 donar bike for dirt cheap. now the question. I know both swing arms are 205cm so thats a good start. the front end is the issue. honda is 5.0 cm bottom stem and the nsr is 5.5cm .

do you guys think its worth the effort to get the stem shaved down or am I wasting my time even swopping an nsr 250 front end?

reason for this is a want to build something a bit cooler than the rest and like the mono shock rear and twin brakes up front.

please share any advise or help

thanks

Compare the stem length, if they are close you can just get a new set of bearings to fit the cb steering head and the nsr stem

And if not, you can probably swap the stems will little effort. Note that the trickiest bit will be getting a spoked rim installed in the NSR forks. You need to find a hub with the correct axle diameter, then spacers to fit the hub, then spacers/brackets to align the brake calipers...You may want to sort that out exactly before buying anything. Lemme know if you don't go this route--I might be willing to use the NSR front with the allow wheel on my build.

The monoshock might be even trickier to get good performance out of. They behave very differently than twin shocks, and a lot of math goes into finding the correct linkage and what not. That's about the extent of my knowledge. You'll have to seriously brace the swingarm if they're not supported by the shocks near the axle.
